For this assignment I was approached by ICANN and was tasked with creating 2 decks of playing cards that celebrate the individuals behind the scenes who safeguard the internet. Each card features a captivating illustration of an ICANN employee as a heroic defender or a cunning villain, reflecting their personalities, preferences, and quirks.

My goal was to employ a vibrant and dynamic artistic style that brings the characters to life. I incorporated elements of technology, symbolism, and fantasy and sci fi characters to create a visually stunning and cohesive deck.

These decks were printed and distributed amongst the employees as gifts during their yearly conferences. I was such a treat to hear of the overwhelming positive and emotional response that both the employees who were illustrated on the cards and the rest who were not had during the revealing of these decks. It is this joy in connecting with others and the value I bring to their lives that drives me to make the art I do.
